José Maria García Sánchez + xmade GmbH have been awarded the second prize in the invited competition for the new Marina Tiefenbrunnen on the lake of Zürich. With the idea of connecting the city to the lake, the project transforms the coastal area of the old port, currently closed to the public, into a permeable enclave for nautical activities and social gathering, with cultural programs and restaurants. The architectural scheme proposed seizes the existing artificial landscape of masts, cables, and small suspended gears, adopting as a reference the lightness of the tensegrity, freeing up the entire surface of the dock and optimizing the public space.
