The multidisciplinary team lead by Estudio Herreros was selected to participate in the development of a proposal for the new Smart Living Lab in Fribourg for the EPFL and the University of Fribourg. During six months, the team has intensively worked on a “Mandat d’études parallèles”, proposing a flexible, energy-efficient and low embodied carbon building: a modular and modifiable pre-stressed timber structure embraced by an energy collecting and prefabricated wooden envelope.
