The proposal for the architectural competition for the Medical Emergency Service, developed by the JFA + ALGA team, has been awarded with the second prize. The building consists of a hybrid structure of steel + concrete, a large-format prefabricated facade of light wooden framework and a double exterior skin with fixed solar protections of stretched recycled aluminium sheets, pre-assembled in the workshop on continuous horizontal walkways, for a very fast and easy construction.
Always in the shade of the perforated metal planes, which generate a faceted and changing skin, but arranged at an angle with respect to the direction of the facade to improve solar protection in the most critical orientations in the summer of our latitude, East and West, we find the inner skin that has a geometric configuration (both the facade and the roof) that allows generating all filter spaces (patios and terraces) generously vegetated that act as buffer spaces from the outside towards the inside.
