The project is built with the topography of the site: the proposal for the extension of the Cantonal Court of Vaud takes into account the balance between the built volume and the topography of the Parc de l'Hermitage which gently descends towards the center of Lausanne and the Lake Geneva. The proposal is more of a landscape than a building: a load-bearing structure in glued laminated wood is built around six buried patios, six various local landscapes that penetrate into the interior spaces thanks to a very transparent glazed facade and which takes the natural lighting and ventilation required. The green roof of the building ultimately restores the topography to the site.
