Le nouveau bâtiment "Sciences de la Vie" pour l'Université de Lausanne et l'EPFL hébergera un complexe programme de laboratoires et bureaux dédiés à la recherche. Le bâtiment est conçu en contraste avec la complexité du programme, avec une simplicité formelle (un socle massif couronné par quatre éléments prismatiques construisant les angles et foré à l'intérieur pour diverses cours) et matérielle (les matériaux du bâtiment sont réduits aux murs en béton apparent réalisé sur place et aux grandes surfaces en verre).

The new building "Sciences de la Vie" for the Lausanne University and the EPFL will house a complex program consisting of Laboratories and offices devoted to research. The building is conceived, in contrast with the complexity of the program, with both a simple formality (a massive plinth is crowned with four prismatic elements that build the corners and is perforated in the interior by different patios) and materiality (the materials of the building are reduced to on-site exposed concrete walls and generous surfaces of glass).
